LIST OF ISSUES
Technology

For six years prior to taking office, April watched as the Clerk's office fell behind while the technological advancements were passing by. She was certain that opportunities were possible and being neglected. It turned out that her predictions were accurate. Upsettingly, the office was already significantly behind the times. A couple years into her term, she and many of her constituents, fought to get the laws changed. Fortunately, April had been working hard preparing to institute the necessary upgrades to not only become compliant, but to head off the eminent challenges. With the support of her Judges, Court IT, and County Commissioners, she was able to spearhead a plan to bring Ashtabula County into forefront of an unprecedented technological facelift.

Her efforts have paved the way for new procedures and the revolutionary upgrade of her case management system that operates her Legal Division that is innovating the public's access to records, expanding new protections for victims through better redaction software, supplying cost savings to the county, and providing consistency to record keeping and data entry.

Automobile & Watercraft Titles

Registrations are required for every recreational boat in Ohio, including powerboats, sailboats, canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, and inflatable boats. Clerk Daniels has adopted the ability to register all watercraft, including smaller boats, in the same building to make it more convenient for customers to get these registered.
